LOST WITHOUT YOU
In Memory of Captain John Ogonowski
I have no race, color or creed, no religion or status, lost identity
I am not a man, woman, nor child, only a face without a smile.
Human to the touch, my soul I grieve, eyes crying uncontrollably
In my hands trembling with fear, a photo of someone who is not here. Deep beneath the earth, twisted metal, sand and stone
Lay my true love, my heart, my very own.
Mother, father, sister, brother, relative, a friend
Daughter, son, child of mine, help me Jesus through this time. I suffer not all alone, thousands upon thousands searching too
For something tangible to behold, a lost treasure would simply do.
A purse, briefcase, piece of jewelry, gold filled tooth
I would settle for anything, even a scorched fireman's boot. I stand before you naked, take a look at me
Crying out so helpless on National TV.
Never forget the horror and the pain on my face
As we stood together, to salvage, one human race.
